Cast members from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Legally Blonde will help the contemporary dance company dre.dance celebrate its fifth anniversary on Dec 14th.  The event, entitled Broadway Celebrates dre.dance, will be held at New World Stages.  Brian d’Arcy James, Celia Keenan-Bolger (…Spelling Bee), Steven Pasquale, Lauren Kennedy, Eric Jordan Young, Tracy Jai Edwards (Legally Blonde), Asmeret Ghebremichael (Legally Blonde) and Jennifer Prescott are scheduled to perform.  Call Telecharge for details.

The New York Philharmonic will present Sondheim: The Birthday Concert, packed with stars associated with the work of the composer-lyricist, March 15 and 16 at 7:30 PM.  Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, and Bernadette Peters are set to take the stage to celebrate Sondheim’s 80th birthday.

Gavin Creel

Rosie O’Donnell will host A Broadway Extravaganza at the Palace Theater on November 23rd.  Proceeds from the concert will benefit Rosie’s Broadway Kids.  This evening will feature performances by Gavin Creel, Nikki Blonsky, Melinda Doolittle, Montego Glover, Norm Lewis, Judy Gold, the cast of Jim Henson’s Emmet Otter and Rosie’s Broadway Kids.
